ESM346:Environmental Planning and Management
ESM346: Environmental Planning and Management is a three (3) credit unit course designed for undergraduate students of Environmental Science in 300 level.
This course is made up of five modules with 21 units. The course will expose the students to a clear understanding of the planning and management of most of the resources and problems in our environment. The knowledge gained will also assist the students and all those who may come across the material involving environmentally oriented problems and proffer solutions to them. It covers those topics on Environmental Planning and Management which directly affects human existence on the face of the earth

ESM 346: Environmental planning and Management consists of five (5) main components arranged in the form of modules and units. The course is structured in such a way that the students are exposed to the planning of the environment and types of planning and the management of some environmental issues.

- Stimulate your interest in environmental planning and management.
- Enhanced the student ability and skills of identifying and analyzing environmental problems of development planning in the society.
- Equip the students with the skills required in the practice of environmental planning and management.
- Enable the students serve as teachers and environmentalists, planners, personnel officers, administrators, politicians etc.
- Analyse the causes and provide solutions to some basic ecological problems like flooding, pollution, solid wastes, drought etc.
- Create awareness among the students on how to optimally manage resources of the environment without jeopardizing the needs of future generation.
- The students will be exposed to some environmental laws and practices in Nigeria.
- Students will acquaint themselves with the different types of solid waste and how to optimally manage them.
