INR386:Theories of International Relations

The aim of this course is to provide students with a general introduction to the major theories of international relations. In each case, we will locate the historical context of these theories, show where and how they contribute to an understanding of what international relations is and how it works, and identify their weaknesses and blind spots.

What Will You Learn?

This will enhance students’ analytical skills, both in terms of developing and presenting their own arguments, developing their capacity to engage in informed discussion and argument about complex political questions.
