CRS321: God and Revelation

The Course God and Revelation, is about the person of God and man’s knowledge of God. The need to know God arises from the fact that he is our Creator, the Object of our worship, and the one who controls and rules this world. The knowledge of God is important for our worship and how we live our lives. The course is part of what is called “Theology Proper.” It is about God’s Essence, Being, and his relationship with the Creation.

1. Define God and explain the implication of the Name.

2. Identify the different sources of man’s knowledge of God.

3. Explain the nature and meaning of God’s Revelation.

4. Identify the two most important aspects of God’s Revelation.

5. Account for the relationship between General and Special Revelations.

6. Discuss the modes of General and Special revelation.

7. Explain why attributes are considered part of God’s revelation.

8. Discuss the Names of God.

9. Account for the necessity and importance of the Doctrine of Inspiration.

10. Identify the differences between Natural theology and General revelation,

11. Discuss progressive revelation and be able to give some of its examples.

12. Explain images of God, their importance, and their different aspects.
